EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — After a brief standoff in West El Paso, a joint law enforcement operation resulted in the arrest of a wanted fugitive for sexual assault of a child, according to the El Paso County Constable’s Office for Precinct 1.
On Wednesday, Aug. 5, deputies with the Constable’s Office assisted the El Paso Police Department, the U.S. Marshals Lone Star Fugitive Task Force and the Texas Rangers to apprehend a suspect along the 200 block of Carnival Drive.

After a standoff, 36-year-old Adam Martinez surrendered and was taken into custody without further incident. He was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility on a sexual assault of a child (rape) charge, with a $150,000 bond.

“This operation is a testament to the importance of strong partnerships between local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies. By working collaboratively, we are able to safely apprehend dangerous offenders, protect our neighborhoods, and strengthen the safety and security of our community,” read the release by the Constable’s Office.
