One Dallas restaurant failed inspection and roaches were found at seven others in the latest round of city health checks, according to the inspection report.
The report compiled by the Star-Telegram contains data from July 19 through Aug. 1 and 331 inspections.
Dallas inspections function on a 100-point system, where a score of 100 is considered perfect and anything below 70 is considered failing. Scores below 60 require closure and reinspection before opening.
Pho Midway, at 17610 Midway Road, had a score of 61. The restaurant must be reinspected within 10 days or face closure.
Roach issues were observed at seven locations:
Pepe’s Corner Store, at 4819 Bernal Drive, had a score of 82. Inspectors observed roaches “throughout the establishment,” according to the report.Lena’s On Technology, at 10333 Technology Blvd. East, had a score of 86.Taqueria La Esperanza, at 2992 Walnut Hill Lane, had a score of 87. Inspectors found roaches in the kitchen.Golden Chick, at 10443 North Central Expressway, had a score of 90. Inspectors found “roach activity” on a prep table in the kitchen.Rubens Shrimp Cocktail, at 735 North Westmoreland Road, had a score of 91. Inspectors found roaches in a food prep area.Yummi Sushi, at 17194 Preston Road, had a score of 93. Roaches were observed in a dry storage area.Ronnie’s Catfish And More, at 10729 Audelia Road in Dallas, had a score of 97. Roaches were observed in the bathroom.
