SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio Metro Health will host a back-to-school immunization event Sunday as part of National Immunization Awareness Month.

The event will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 9 at the Wheatley Heights Sports Complex, 200 Noblewood Drive.

Eligible children and adults can receive recommended vaccines through the Texas Vaccines for Children and Adult Safety Net programs. Vaccines will be available based on eligibility and while supplies last; no appointment is required.

Attendees are encouraged to bring their vaccination record or card, if they have one, and to arrive early, as space is limited.

Community partners will also be at the event to provide information about no-cost resources and services available to families.

The event is part of Metro Health’s Let’s Grow Together initiative, which focuses on the health of mothers, infants, children and adolescents.
