SAN ANTONIO — South Texas Blood & Tissue is offering donors a chance to win tickets to see Guns N’ Roses or Iron Maiden as the organization works to address a summer blood shortage.
Donors who give blood at any South Texas Blood & Tissue donor center through Aug. 9 can enter for a chance to receive tickets to Guns N’ Roses on Sept. 16 or Iron Maiden on Sept. 29.
Donors should use the promo code “ROSES” when scheduling for the Guns N’ Roses promotion or “IRON” for Iron Maiden. Donors will also receive a Rock N Roll T-shirt.
The organization said there is an urgent need for type O blood, with donations typically declining during the summer because of traveling and extreme weather.
Blood donations are used for patients experiencing emergencies and for those undergoing surgeries, cancer treatments, childbirth, and other medical care.
