SAN ANTONIO — Firefighters rescued a woman from a burning home on the Southeast Side Saturday morning, according to the San Antonio Fire Department.
The fire broke out around 9 a.m. at a single-story home in the 4600 block of Alma Drive. Three people were inside the home when the fire started.
Crews found a woman in her mid-20s in a front bedroom and helped her out while other firefighters worked to contain the flames. She was taken to Brooke Army Medical Center in critical condition.
Firefighters believe the fire started in the kitchen, which sustained fire damage. The blaze was brought under control.
The cause and origin of the fire remain under investigation.
