Raccoon named Mayonesa rescued after head caught in mayo jar

DALLAS (WFAA) – Dallas Animal Services helped one raccoon out of a rather sticky situation earlier this week.

The raccoon, nicknamed Mayonesa, was spotted around a neighborhood for several days with her head stuck in a mayonnaise jar.

Dallas Animal Services say they tried multiple times to capture her.

Then on Monday, they spotted Mayonesa near an abandoned house and captured her as soon as she climbed down from a tree.

They say they had to sedate the animal before they could remove the jar.

She was a little dehydrated, but is in otherwise good condition.

Mayonesa will eventually be released back into the wild…and will hopefully stay away from jars.
