SAN ANTONIO – Three young women will compete Aug. 8, 2026, for a $10,000 scholarship and the chance to become one of the public faces of the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo as the next Cavvietta Cowgirls.

The rodeo is offering behind-the-scenes access to its selection process, which it describes as a leadership evaluation rather than a pageant.

Candidates are assessed on communication skills, character, knowledge of agriculture and western heritage, professionalism and a passion for serving their communities.

The winner will receive the $10,000 scholarship and spend the next year as an ambassador for the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo, an organization that invests millions of dollars each year in the youth of Texas, according to the release.

The rodeo said the Aug. 8 selection process will include an interview and skills portion, along with evaluations and the announcement of the next Cavvietta Cowgirls.

The rodeo also said coverage could include behind-the-scenes interviews and evaluations, the reactions as the selections are made, and first interviews with the newly selected ambassador and her family.

The San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo said it can also arrange interviews with rodeo leadership, judges and candidates.
