CONVERSE, Texas – A man was shot and killed Wednesday evening after investigators say he opened fire on a woman who was leaving a home before another man returned fire.
The shooting happened around 7 p.m. at a home near Kitty Hawk Road and Topperwein Road.
According to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office, when deputies arrived, they found the man unresponsive inside the home. Despite life-saving efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident began after a disturbance inside the home. A woman left the residence and began walking toward a nearby house.
As she was leaving, the man allegedly fired at her. A resident from the neighboring home then shot the man, fatally wounding him.
The man who fired the fatal shot left the area in a black SUV before deputies arrived. Investigators are working to locate him to determine the full circumstances surrounding the shooting.
