EL PASO, TEXAS (KFOX14/CBS4) — El Paso police and fire crews responded to a traffic accident on I-10 near Hawkins.
The El Paso City and County Public Alert and Incident Notification System reported a traffic accident and medical response near Exit 26 on I-10 around 11:09 a.m.
TxDOT traffic cameras showed emergency vehicles at the scene and significant traffic backups in the area.
According to the El Paso Fire Department, one person was injured from the collision with minor injuries.
Dashcam video shared by FitFam on social media appears to show a red Mini Cooper traveling on I-10 East and changing lanes several times. At one point, the vehicle appears to travel along the shoulder before returning to the main lanes of traffic.
The video then appears to show the Mini Cooper move toward the left side of the highway before colliding with a semi-truck and becoming lodged underneath the truck’s trailer.

As of 11:52 a.m. all lanes on I-10 near Hawkins are open according to TxDOT’s website.
