UVALDE, Texas – A large fire sent thick black smoke into the sky in Uvalde on East Main Street on Tuesday afternoon.

The Uvalde Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched about 3:50 p.m. to Hacienda Salvage on East Main Street past Walmart. Residents in the area reported seeing large black smoke.

Uvalde County Constable Emmanuel Zamora took to Facebook to address the fire, saying that local first responders were attending to the situation.

By 4:15 p.m., Knippa Volunteer Fire Department, Sabinal Volunteer Fire Department, and Concan Fire & EMS had been requested as mutual aid for the fire.
