SAPD: Man critically injured after shooting on West Side

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — The San Antonio Police Department is trying to figure out why a man was found inside a locked bedroom with gunshot wound to the head Saturday night.

Officers were called to the 1500 block of NW 26th Street around 7:17 p.m., and upon arrival they found a man with a gunshot to the head, but no weapon was found at the scene.

The man is described as 24-year-old, but no other details were given. He was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries and his current status is unknown.

There is no word on any suspects, and police have not completely ruled out the possibility the shot was self-inflicted.

The investigation continues.
