The high temperature is expected to top out at 100 degrees, with heat index, or “feels like” values as high as 103, according to the National Weather Service’s Fort Worth office.

The only reprieve will be a southerly wind of 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. The breeze is forecast to last into the evening, the weather service said.

Nighttime temperatures are expected to dip into the high 70s, according to the weather service.

No significant rain is forecast in the region through Friday, and the hot weather is expected to stretch into next week with triple-digit highs and lows in the 70s and 80s.
