Dallas police detectives on the North Texas Internet Crimes Against Children task force made two arrests based on a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, according to a police news release.

Detectives identified the suspects as 34-year-old Skylar Laza, a Houston County sheriff’s office deputy, and 29-year-old Kenan Laza, a Gladewater police officer.

The preliminary investigation determined that both suspects had sexually assaulted a child multiple times, the release said.

Skylar Laza was arrested in Palestine on Wednesday and faces a first-degree felony charge of aggravated sexual assault of a child.
