SAN ANTONIO — The start of a new school year means a return to early mornings for thousands of students and their families across the San Antonio area.
Students in Northside ISD, South San Antonio ISD, East Central ISD and Uvalde CISD returned to class Monday, along with students at Jubilee Academies.
Boerne ISD, Edgewood ISD, IDEA Public Schools and Great Hearts are scheduled to begin classes Tuesday.
As families adjust to new routines, Dr. Kre Johnson recommends gradually changing children’s bedtimes instead of making sudden adjustments to their sleep schedules.
Johnson said maintaining a consistent sleep schedule is important, including on weekends.
The amount of sleep a child needs can vary.
