SAN ANTONIO – A man is hospitalized after he was shot during an apparent fight early Tuesday morning on the West Side.
The incident was reported around 3:30 a.m. on Culebra Road near Callaghan Road.
Police said the victim suffered a gunshot wound to the groin and was transported to the hospital in stable condition. He is expected to recover.
The man told officers he had gotten into a fight and was shot, but he did not provide any information about a possible suspect. He also told investigators the shooting happened at a nearby dollar store.
However, officers were unable to locate a crime scene, and police said there were questions about the victim’s account of what happened.
Investigators are working to determine exactly where and how the shooting occurred.
No arrests have been made.
