Arlington police are investigating the death of a 42-year-old man after his car swerved off the road and ended up in a ditch Sunday afternoon.
According to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s website, the man identified as Leighton Francis Howard died in a hospital emergency room at 2:42 p.m. His cause of death is pending.
Officers responded about 2 p.m. to the 2000 block of East Road to Six Flags Street after it was reported that a 2025 Toyota Corolla had gone off the roadway and into a ditch, police said in a news release.
Howard, the driver and the sole occupant of the Corolla, was found unresponsive, police said.
Police said it was unclear why Howard’s car went off the road.
Prior to his car going off the roadway, investigators have not ruled out the possibility that Howard suffered a medical episode, according to the release.
