18-year-old indicted in connection with July deadly shooting

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – An 18-year-old has been indicted in connection with the shooting death of Joe Ybarra Jr. in early July.

Keymarion Burton is facing a murder charge.

Around midnight on July 5, police responded to a shots fired call at an apartment complex near North Ithaca Street.

Upon arrival, officers found Ybarra unresponsive in the parking lot with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to UMC where he later died.

Burton remains in the Lubbock County Detention Center on a combined bond of $275,000.
