Prestonwood Christian Academy completed a major renovation of its Upper School in Plano, adding more than 10,000 square feet of new and updated academic space designed to give students hands-on experience in fields ranging from business and science to broadcast media and technology.
The project includes a Business & Entrepreneurship Suite, STEM Lab, six renovated science laboratories, Spiritual Development Suite, International Student Program Suite and Broadcast Command Center.
Preparing Students Beyond The Classroom
According to the school, the new spaces were designed around the skills students will need as they move into college, careers and beyond, giving them opportunities to apply classroom lessons in more practical settings.
The Business & Entrepreneurship Suite includes a collaborative classroom and executive-style boardroom where students can conduct mock meetings, pitch business proposals and work through simulations based on real-world business scenarios.
The science department also received a significant overhaul. Six laboratories were rebuilt with custom cabinetry, high-heat and chemical-resistant epoxy surfaces, updated plumbing and electrical systems, and new instructional technology.

A dedicated STEM Lab gives students additional room for robotics, engineering and other hands-on projects. The space will serve STEM Honors students, engineering classes and the school’s Science Olympiad team, as well as PCA’s robotics program, which has qualified at the world level.
A New Home For Student Broadcasting
The Broadcast Command Center adds another professional-style learning environment to the Upper School. Equipped with industry-standard broadcast technology, the facility will give students practical experience in media production while providing PCA with the ability to livestream events throughout campus. That includes athletic competitions, theater productions and academic ceremonies.
The system was also designed to accommodate future expansion as the school’s broadcasting needs grow.
An Investment In PCA’s Future
Dr. Michael Goddard, PCA’s superintendent, said the renovation reflects the school’s focus on preparing students for the future while maintaining its faith-based mission.
“This renovation represents far more than new classrooms — it reflects our commitment to preparing students for the future while remaining firmly rooted in our mission to develop Christ-centered leaders,” he said. “Every space was intentionally designed to inspire curiosity, creativity, collaboration and purpose.”
School leadership credited donor support for making the renovation possible, describing the project as part of a broader effort to prepare students for college, careers and ministry.
PCA’s system includes four schools and programs across the region, serving more than 2,000 students through its Plano and Prosper campuses, hybrid and online programs, and St. Timothy Christian Academy, which serves students with significant learning differences.
