HARRISON COUNTY, Mo – An Austin, Texas woman is facing drug trafficking charges in Harrison County following her arrest over the weekend.

According to a probable cause statement, a trooper with the Missouri State Highway Patrol pulled over a vehicle driven by 48-year-old Gina Maria Bongiorno.  The trooper asked for Bongiorno’s consent to search the vehicle, which she denied.

After a search warrant was granted five large duffle bags and one large suitcase were located inside, all of which contained packages of marijuana.  The approximate weight of the marijuana was 214 pounds.

Bongiorno was taken into custody and transported to the Harrison County Jail on a charge of second-degree drug trafficking.  A bond review hearing for Bongiorno is scheduled for 1:30 on Thursday afternoon.
