International visitors during the FIFA World Cup may not have realized Texas Roadhouse isn’t from Texas, but it definitely revived interest in the nationwide brand. From its two-stepping staffers to its thick cuts of steak and buttered rolls, Texas Roadhouse holds a soft spot in our hearts and now one famous Texas city is getting an upgrade to its dining experience.
Odessa is famed for two things: the West Texas oil fields of the Permian Basin and the town’s obsession with high school football. Known as the place where the real-life Friday Night Lights took place, now those same footballers will have a fresh place to fuel up after action on the gridiron.
Odessa’s only Texas Roadhouse sits at 4221 N. Grandview Ave., Odessa, TX 79762, right across the street from H-E-B. Serving residents for more than a decade, Texas Roadhouse is now set to undergo a $160,000 addition to the dining room, according to a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR).
Construction is expected to begin on September 7 and is aiming to be completed by December 7, according to the TDLR. That timeline is subject to change without notice and it’s unclear if the restaurant will be closed during renovations. MySA has reached out to Texas Roadhouse for comment on the upgrades.
Texas Roadhouse may have been founded in Kentucky in 1993, but Texas now has the most locations out of all 50 states with 84 restaurants. In comparison, Florida has the second most with 49, according to ScrapeHero.
