Charletra Sharp, owner of Cup o’ Vibes coffee and culture brand, is a community builder. Cup o’ Vibes has been serving Southeast Arlington since October 2022.
“Guided by our mantra, ‘Brewing Community. Serving Culture,’ we use coffee and curated experiences as a vehicle to bring people together, celebrate culture and foster meaningful connections,” said Sharp.
When she heard about the Changemakers Social Entrepreneurship Cohort, a nine-month program and certification facilitated by Community Frontline in partnership with Social Impact Architects, she knew it would be a great fit.
“As a macro social worker who also owns a small business, I was naturally drawn to a cohort that focused on the intersection of social impact and entrepreneurship. I wanted to deepen my knowledge and understanding of current trends in social enterprise while learning practical strategies for building organizations that are both mission-driven and sustainable,” she said.
Underwriting support from the Arlington Tomorrow Foundation enabled Sharp, as well as other Arlington-based entrepreneurs and organizations, to participate in the inaugural cohort.
“Their investment helped create access to a program designed to strengthen the capacity of local leaders who are building businesses and initiatives with a social impact focus,” she said.
One of Sharp’s favorite parts of the cohort was engaging with other changemakers from across Tarrant County.
“I am already applying what I am learning by refining my approach to planning, identifying strategic relationships and continuing to build a strong foundation for the future growth of Cup o’ Vibes and Brewing Community,” she said.
Sharp said the experience has strengthened both her vision and her ability to create lasting impact through her business.
“I appreciate Arlington Tomorrow Foundation’s commitment to creating pathways for local leaders to grow, innovate and contribute to Arlington’s continued vitality,” she said.
The Arlington Tomorrow Foundation has awarded over $51 million to more than 570 projects or programs. To learn more about the foundation and how to apply, visit their website: www.arlingtonfoundation.org.
