A woman wanted in connection with the death of her 3-year-old daughter in 1996 has been arrested in Mexico, according to the Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office.
Maria Narez, 48, was indicted in 1999 for capital murder in the 1996 death of her daughter, Kassandra White.
Before the case could go to trial, Narez fled and has remained a fugitive for decades, the Tarrant County DA’s Office said.
Narez was arrested on Saturday, Aug. 8, 2026, in Mexico.
