SAN ANTONIO — Drivers traveling through Northeast San Antonio near the North Loop 1604 and Lookout Road area should prepare for overnight closures Thursday, Aug. 13, and Friday, Aug. 14, as crews continue work on the Interstate 35 Northeast Expansion Program.
According to the TxDOT San Antonio District, the closures will run from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night.
During the overnight work, drivers can expect the eastbound Loop 1604 mainlanes at Lookout Road to be closed, along with the eastbound Loop 1604 collector and the eastbound Loop 1604 entrance at IKEA/RBFCU Parkway.
The eastbound Loop 1604 frontage road will remain open.
Drivers will be detoured onto the eastbound Loop 1604 frontage road toward Pat Booker Road, where they can regain access to the eastbound Loop 1604 mainlanes.
TxDOT is advising motorists to allow extra travel time and use caution while traveling through the work zone.
The overnight closures are part of ongoing work associated with the I-35 Northeast Expansion Program.
