Relief efforts ongoing to help Ward brothers recover from house fire

A GoFundme account has been set up to help brothers Mat and Macky Ward recover from the fire that destroyed their Port Aransas home Thursday night.

Also, a benefit account has been established at American Bank in Port Aransas to help the Wards. Anyone can contribute by walking into the bank at 216 S. Alister St. and explaining that they want to make a donation to the account. Donations can be made anonymously, if that desire is specified.
Folks who can’t make it to the bank in person can mail checks made out to Malcolm or Mathew Ward to the bank. Write “For benefit account” on the memo line.

A fundraiser event is being planned for Sept. 12 at Shorty’s Place in Port Aransas. Details still are being worked out.
