EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A man identified as a member of the Chuco Tango Gang was arrested for failure to identify after attempting to steal from Walmart, according to the El Paso County Constable’s Office Precinct #6.
Authorities reported that 34-year-old Terence Andrew Mendoza was arrested by an off-duty constable after trying to walk out of Walmart with a speaker worth $300, just after 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 11.

The constable was working an off-duty assignment at the Cielo Vista Walmart when Walmart Asset Protection associates flagged them down regarding a theft.
While detained, Mendoza identified himself to the constable by word of mouth and provided a false/fictitious name, the constable’s office said.
An investigation revealed that Mendoza had lied about his last name while lawfully detained, and a warrant was issued.
The Precinct Six Constable presented a complaint affidavit to the Jail Magistrate’s office, which issued an arrest warrant for Mendoza.
Mendoza was placed under arrest by Precinct Six Deputy Constables and booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility for failure to identify giving false/fictitious info.
Walmart did not wish to prosecute for the original theft charge.
