An Arlington man shot and killed his ex-girlfriend on Sunday afternoon before turning the gun on himself, Denton police said on Tuesday.
Denton police responded to the 1900 block of North Bell Avenue around 2:30 p.m. on Sunday after receiving reports of a shooting, according to a post on the department’s Facebook page.
Officers located a man and woman outside a residence, and both were pronounced deceased on scene, according to the post. Preliminary investigation found that the man fatally shot the woman before shooting himself.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the woman as 24-year-old Ava Manley of Denton, and the man as 31-year-old Colin Farley of Arlington, according to the post. Detectives confirmed that Manley and Farley were previously in a dating relationship.
The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to contact Denton Police detective Pizana at 940-349-7922.
