CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Corpus Christi Fire Department responded to a reported house fire in the 200 block of Aberdeen Avenue near Ocean Drive around 4:20 p.m. Wednesday.
Flames and smoke were reported on the rear side of the building. CCFD Chief Tony Perez said crews attacked the fire quickly, preventing it from spreading to the storage area and isolating it to the exterior wall and fence.

CCFD Captain Marcus Brown said the burning structure was a garage and crews contained the fire within 20 minutes.
“When they arrived they found a fully involved garage fire. They were able to keep it from spreading to the house and there weren’t any injuries. There were no occupants in the home at the time,” said Captain Brown.
The investigation is ongoing. CCFD will continue conducting “fire watch” to make sure the fire does not start again.
