An Arlington convenience store was temporarily closed during the most recent round of inspections due to a critical health violation, according to data from the city compiled by the Star-Telegram.

Monterrey Market at 825 E. Sanford St. received a high score of 95 on Aug. 6 but was closed due to an active cockroach infestation, according to a City of Arlington spokesperson. The establishment reopened the next day after a follow-up inspection showed the issue had been taken care of.

Tandoor Indian Restaurant, located at 1200 N. Fielder Road, was also allowed to reopen after being closed by the city on July 31. The inspector had found a roach infestation and cleanliness issues. The restaurant reopened Aug. 5.

Arlington restaurants are scored on a 100-point system, with 100 being a perfect score. Restaurants and other places that serve food that score 75 or less require a follow-up inspection, and a score of 70 is considered extremely poor.

The City of Arlington inspected 52 restaurants the week of Aug. 2. Monterrey Market was the only closure, and no food establishment failed the inspection.
