HENDERSON COUNTY, Texas (KLTV) – Payne Springs Fire and Rescue and multiple agencies are currently fighting a wildland fire off of Peach Tree Road.
According to county officials, the fire has grown to 50 acres in size. As of 10 p.m., the forest service said it was 50% contained.
As of 6:30 p.m., emergency crews had closed CR 2507 to the first curve, they shared on Facebook, after a fire burned an electric pole. The road will remain closed until power crews replace the damaged pole and secure the lines.
They said drivers must stay out of the area. When the Texas Forest Service arrived on location, fire lines were beginning to be cut.
