Fire breaks out on second floor of apartment building, crews quickly contain flames

SAN ANTONIO – A fire that broke out on the second story of an apartment building was quickly contained by firefighters.

Around 7:25 p.m. on Thursday, crews were called to a reported fire at an apartment complex near the corner of North Vandiver Road and Harmon Drive on the Northeast Side.

Officials with the San Antonio Fire Department say that the fire had broken out in an apartment on the second story, and the flames were quickly brought under control.

Crews are continuing to inspect for damage and residual fire. No residents or firefighters were injured. The fire remained contained in the one building.

The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
