LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Hill & Ioppolo Oral Surgery & Dental Implants will host its 9th Annual Community Blood Drive on Saturday, Aug. 15, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The practice has partnered with Vitalant for nearly a decade to support the local blood supply.
The practice has set a goal of collecting 12 units of blood. According to organizers, each donation can help save up to three lives.
Dr. Robert Ioppolo said the cause is personal. He donated blood regularly while serving in the Army and has continued that commitment through the practice’s annual event.
Vitalant said donors of all blood types are needed, with a particular need for Type O as summer months continue to put pressure on the blood supply.

Residents can register through Saturday at lubbockoralfacialsurgery.com/blood-drive.
Donors who register using code AUGUST15-2026-V will receive a $15 Vitalant Rewards gift card, along with event swag. Opt-in to the Donor Rewards program is required for the gift card.
