ROBERTSON COUNTY, Texas (KBTX) – The 14th Annual Texas Trail Ride has been canceled following a “serious threat” to the safety and security of attendees, according to Robertson County Sheriff Gerald Ruland.
The Robertson County Sheriff’s Office received information from another law enforcement agency on Saturday afternoon, indicating a threat had been detected.
To ensure the safety of attendees and local citizens, the County Judge, Sheriff Ruland, and legal counsel decided to cancel the county permits for the event, which was located in the 15000 block of Old Hearne Road (15342 Old Hearne Road).
“Anyone who was planning on coming to the trail ride should make other plans for the evening. We are committed to the safety and security of our residents and our visitors.”
No further details regarding the nature of the threat have been released at this time.
