The Dallas Cowboys have an actual football game to play. Not a football-like activity, an actual game. With 30 other NFL franchises already seeing action, the Cowboys and Seattle Seahawks will have the final kickoff of the first week of exhibition season on Saturday night from Lumen Field.
The two teams are both hopeful to lift the Lombardi Trophy at the end of the season, but they couldn’t be starting off any further from each other than they are. The Seahawks are defending Super Bowl champions while the Cowboys have missed the playoffs each of the last two seasons. Regardless, Brian Schottenheimer’s club should be ready for an opportunity to show the sports world what they are bringing to the table in 2026.

Joe Milton came out blazing in his opportunity to start the second half.
Top Highlight: Camden Brown hauls in his second amazing TD catch of the game.
2nd Quarter Notes and Highlights – Seattle 7, Dallas 10
Top Highlight: Sam Howell finds UDFA WR Camden Brown for a 39-yard score to give Dallas the lead.
The Cowboys’ second drive continues with a nice 3rd-down conversion on a a slant to Jonathan Mingo. The drive stalls however on third down inside the 20 when a free rusher hurried Howell who tried to find rookie Anthony Smith.
Brandon Aubrey is brought out and nails a 29 yarder to put the Cowboys on the board.
It’s a game of lengthy drives. After it takes the Cowboys 16 plays to end up with just three points, Seattle changes QBs to Jalen Milroe. He led a 15-play drive, but a pass breakup by CB Trikweze Bridges brings up fourth down.
A hold on fourth down led to a 45-yard FG attempt by Jason Myers, who misses to keep it a four-point game.
1st Quarter Notes and Highlights – Seattle 7, Dallas 0
The Cowboys are facing a battle-tested QB in Drew Lock. Though they made several nice run stops, penalties allowed Seattle to march down the field on the opening drive. A DPI and a facemask on CB Caelen Carson, put the Seahawks close, and on 3rd-and-Goal, Lock found WR Foster in the end zone for the score.
When the Cowboys got the ball, a false start on 3rd-and-4 on LT Nate Thomas stalled the opening drive, leading to a Bryan Anger punt.
On their second drive, RB Jaydon Blue had a nice run after the catch to move the chains.
Later in the drive, Sam Howell found Jonathan Mingo to move the chains on third down.
