SAN ANTONIO — A suspected intoxicated driver was detained after sideswiping a San Antonio police officer on the city’s Northwest Side.
The incident happened around 9:22 p.m. Friday in the 6700 Blk Whitby Road near Barron Drive.
Police said officers were traveling eastbound on Whitby when they saw a vehicle speeding down the road in their direction.
Officers attempted to swerve to avoid a collision but the vehicle sideswiped an officer.
The driver, a 51-year-old man, was detained at the scene and showed signs of intoxication, police said.
No injuries were reported.
