LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) -If you’re hoping for rain today, the odds aren’t great, but a few communities could get lucky.
A few storms may pop up across the northern half of our viewing area, with strong wind gusts being the main threat.

Storms are most likely north of a line from Muleshoe to Plainview to Childress thanks to a leftover boundary from Saturday night’s storms.

Elsewhere, expect plenty of sunshine with afternoon highs in the 90s and lower 100s. Sunday night will be quiet, followed by another mainly dry and hot day Monday.

The heat intensifies Tuesday and Wednesday. Most of the region will reach triple digits, while communities east of the Caprock could climb to 105 degrees.
Rain chances tick up later this week(KCBD)
A front could move through the region later in the week, potentially bringing slightly cooler temperatures and a better chance of rain. For now, the most likely outcome is continued hot and mostly dry weather through next weekend.
