Montana westbound at Justice/Tierra Este is closed because of high water, TxDOT said. Major backup is being reported.

Clearing time is estimated to be until further notice.

This came after parts of far East El Paso received some heavy rainfall.

Flooding is also being reported near Montwood Middle School.

El Paso Fire said they have not had any injuries or transports that were weather-related.

As of about 9 p.m., about 1,700 customers are without power, mostly in far East El Paso, according to the El Paso Electric outage map.

TxDOT reminds motorists to turn around when they see standing water. “Turn around. Don’t drown,” TxDOT said.
