AMARILLO, Texas (KVII) — The Texas Education Agency (TEA) released the state’s 2026 accountability ratings on Friday, assigning performance grades to public school districts across the Texas Panhandle.

Published on txschools.gov, the A–F grades evaluate public schools across the state largely on the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness, or STAAR.

Amarillo ISD and Canyon ISD each received a B overall rating. For a full list of overall ratings of districts within the Texas Panhandle, see below. To search an individual school campus, visit txschools.gov.

According to the state, the metrics measure student learning and whether students are ready for the next grade level. The ratings are also intended to show how well a district “prepares their students for success after high school.”

The Texas Panhandle consists of 60 school districts and three charter schools with 226 campuses in a 26,000-square-mile-area, according to the Region 16 Education Service Center.

Amarillo Collegiate Academy: B, 86

Booker ISD: B, 82

Borger ISD: C, 78

Bovina ISD: D, 69

Boys Ranch ISD: Not Rated

Bushland ISD: B, 89

Canadian ISD: A, 93

Channing ISD: B, 82
