A Plano man was hospitalized after first responders found him suffering from serious injuries on the side of a road near Hinckley following a motorcycle crash, according to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office.

The motorcyclist was taken by Hinckley EMS first responders to Northwestern Medicine Kishwaukee Hospital in DeKalb for medical care. There, it was discovered that he was allegedly under the influence, according to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office.

That man, Catron L. Puckett, 31, of Plano, was cited for DUI, along with driving an uninsured and unregistered vehicle and improperly crossing road markings, according to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office.

Puckett was found seriously injured by DeKalb County Sheriff’s deputies who responded to a reported motorcycle crash at 7:57 p.m. Sunday near the intersection of Somonauk Road and Phillips Road northwest of Hinckley.

Deputies believe the man crashed while riding a maroon 2015 Victory motorcycle south on Somonauk Road. At a bend in the road, the motorcycle traveled across the center lane and went off the east side of Somonauk Road, deputies wrote.
