Burn bans remain in effect across most of South Plains, all of Panhandle

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Outdoor burning is restricted across a majority of the South Plains and all of the Panhandle due to persistent hot and dry conditions.

Lubbock, Hockley, Dickens, Gaines, Dawson, Borden and Scurry counties are not under burn restrictions.

Refer to the map to see if your county is affected by the burn ban.

Anyone found violating a county burn ban faces a Class C misdemeanor and can be fined up to $500.
