As the hustle and bustle of move-in starts to wind down, UTA athletic seasons are winding up. Here are the dates interested students won’t want to miss this fall.

Volleyball

UTA volleyball kicks off fall 2026 with its first tournament Aug. 28 and 29 in Fayetteville, Arkansas, with a game against UT San Antonio, one against Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and a big test against the University of Arkansas.

The following week, the Mavericks have a home tournament Sept. 4 and 5 at College Park Center against Kent State University, the U.S. Military Academy, and Sam Houston State University, with the last two games being a doubleheader.

UTA then has two more road tournaments in early September and will start official conference play in the new United Athletic Conference at 6 p.m. Sept. 22, in a white-out game against the University of West Georgia.

At 6 p.m. Oct. 20, the Mavericks play Tarleton State University at home with a “dig pink” theme, followed by an alumni weekend game at 1 p.m. Oct. 24 against the University of North Alabama.

UTA takes on Abilene Christian University with a First Responders Day game at 1 p.m. Nov. 7. On Nov. 12, the Mavericks have another theme night with a blue-out game at College Park Center, taking on Austin Peay State University.

They then finish the regular season against the University of Central Arkansas at home with the Senior Day and Homecoming game Nov. 14.

Cross-country

UTA cross-country will hit the ground running at the John McKenzie Invitational, hosted by Texas Christian University, on Sept. 4 in Fort Worth. The next week, UTA will host the Gerald Richey UTA Invitational on Sept. 11 in Fort Worth.

The Mavericks will take a few weeks to dial in and practice before heading to the 38th annual Chile Pepper Cross Country Festival on Oct. 3 in Fayetteville, Arkansas, and the Arturo Barrios Invitational on Oct. 16 in College Station, Texas.

Women’s golf

The women’s golf team will kick off the fall season at the Lady Clerico from Sept. 14 to 15 at Hillcrest Country Club in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. The following week, the Mavericks will head to the Red Raider Invitational from Sept. 22 to 23 at The Rawls Course in Lubbock, Texas.

After taking a few weeks to practice, the Lady Mavericks will head to the Golf Iconic Classic at New Mexico State University Golf Course from Oct. 12 to 14 before finishing the fall at the Diamante Intercollegiate at Diamante Country Club in Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, from Oct. 18 to 20.

Basketball

UTA men’s basketball will fly the Out Rigger Rainbow Classic from Nov. 6 to 9 in Honolulu. Conference games for the men’s and women’s teams will begin in January. The teams typically begin a nonconference schedule in November, but the matches have not yet been announced.
