Arlington Water Utilities and other community organizations will come together from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 12, 2026, at River Legacy Nature Center for the W.A.T.E.R. (Water Awareness Through Education & Recreation) Festival. River Legacy Nature Center holds the free event each year as “a celebration of one of our most vital resources: water.”
“This family-friendly event is packed with educational activities, crafts, demonstrations, all highlighting the importance of water conservation,” according to River Legacy Nature Center, which is located at 703 NW Green Oaks Blvd. in North Arlington.
As part of WATER Festival events, Arlington Water Utilities and Tarrant Regional Water District are co-sponsoring a DIY Rainwater Harvesting class at 1 p.m., Sept. 12 at River Legacy Nature Center. The class will cover:
How much water your roof will produce in a year
Where to put your rain barrel to capture the most water
How to install a barrel
How to hook up and use your new water source
The cost of the workshop is $25 for Tarrant County residents, and participants will go home with a new rain barrel!
