LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – he South Plains Food Bank has named Meredith Cunningham as chief development officer.
Cunningham will lead the organization’s fundraising, donor engagement, community partnership and communications efforts in support of its mission to alleviate hunger and bring hope to individuals and families across West Texas.
“Meredith’s ability to build trusted relationships and tell stories that inspire people to act will be an important asset to the South Plains Food Bank,” said Dina Jeffries, chief executive officer. “Her experience, energy and commitment to the South Plains will help us deepen support for our mission and serve more neighbors facing food insecurity.”
A graduate of Texas Tech University, Cunningham brings more than a decade of experience in strategic communications, media relations, community engagement and storytelling.
After graduation, Cunningham built a career in broadcast journalism as an anchor, producer, multimedia journalist and investigative reporter, including time spent locally at KLBK News. Those roles strengthened her ability to identify compelling stories, communicate complex information clearly and connect with diverse audiences.
Since 2018, she has served at Covenant Health, most recently as senior media and community relations manager, where she developed organization-wide campaigns, strengthened community partnerships, supported volunteer and donation initiatives, managed media relations and led crisis communications.
“This community understands the power of showing up for one another,” Cunningham said. “That spirit is what made me fall in love with Lubbock and continues to inspire me to share its stories. I am honored to join South Plains Food Bank, advance its mission and help ensure our neighbors have access to the food — and hope — they need.”
