ALAMO HEIGHTS, Texas – Walk the halls of the new Alamo Heights high school and you’ll find history and tradition blended perfectly with innovative and original.

Cory Smith is the principal of Alamo Heights High School and she takes pride in calling the campus home, and the students and staff family.
We’ve preserved the traditional look off Alamo Heights. Same brick color. There is a third story, but it’s set back, so it gives the illusion of a two-story building.

The new main building is part of a $321 million bond that taxpayers ok’d in 2023.
The 2-year renovation is the biggest in Heights history. And boy was it worth the wait.
Larger classrooms. Four outdoor teaching spaces. Balconies for lunch, and multiple break-out areas for group projects.
How does this help a kid learn? We do a lot of collaboration. We want them to leave us and make a positive impact through communication, and as part of a team. And we’ve created space for them to do that.
The bells and whistles are nice, but the safety features really stand out, including a new twist on a classroom staple.

Functional. Multi-purpose. Safe. It’s everything you’d want out of a…well, home..
“I love seeing students wide eyed. That’s who you are trying to win over, right? Absolutely, this is their school. I want them to have a sense of pride, and school spirit that the previous generations had before them always coming here.”
