LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – The South Plains Food Bank has appointed Meredith Cunningham as its new Chief Development Officer, effective August 19.
As she steps into her new role, Cunningham will lead the organization’s fundraising, donor engagement, community partnership and communication efforts.
“Meredith’s ability to build trusted relationships and tell stories that inspire people to act will be an important asset to the South Plains Food Bank,” said Dina Jeffries, Chief Executive Officer. “Her experience, energy and commitment to the South Plains will help us deepen support for our mission and serve more neighbors facing food insecurity.”
Cunningham, a graduate of Texas Tech University, brings experience in strategic communications, media relations and community engagement. Previously, she worked in broadcast journalism as an anchor, producer and investigative reporter, including time at KLBK News. Since 2018, she has served at Covenant Health, most recently as a senior media community relations manager.
“This community understands the power of showing up for one another,” Cunningham said. “I am honored to join South Plains Food Bank, advance its mission and help ensure our neighbors have access to the food—and hope—they need.”
Cunningham is also an active member of the Rotary Club of Lubbock, the Association of Women and Communication and the Lubbock Young Professionals and serves on committees at the YWCA of Lubbock and the Cattle Baron’s Ball.
