There’s a new meteorologist storming into North Texas.
Drew Davis announced earlier this week that he’s joining WFAA-TV’s weather team. Davis is already at work, penning an explainer about the extreme heat warning that was in place for North Texas on Tuesday, Aug. 18.
In his announcement social media post, Davis wrote that he’s from the Dallas-Fort Worth area and has been a fan of the Dallas-based station for some time.
“I grew up almost exclusively watching the legendary team at WFAA, and I am honored to work at such a storied news institution,” Davis wrote. “Importantly, this also brings my wife and I closer to family. We’re both from DFW, just different sides of town. I got started on Monday, [Aug. 17] and can’t wait to dig in!”
Davis joins WFAA after a spending the last few years at Hawaii News Now in Honolulu.
Before he moved to the Aloha state, Davis served as a fellow at KBTX-TV in Bryan, Texas, and part-time weather anchor for KTEN-TV in Sherman, Texas. He also interned for WFAA back during the summer of 2020.
Davis graduated from Texas A&M in 2023.
