CCPD says a former student accused 51-year-old Corey Bellino of sexual assault while the student was underage at Carroll High School.
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A Corpus Christi ISD employee and former girls wrestling coach is in the Nueces County Jail after a former student accused him of sexual assault. At the same time, the student was underage, according to the Corpus Christi Police Department.

Police said 51-year-old Corey Bellino was arrested on a second-degree felony charge of sexual assault of a child following a traffic stop near State Highway 44 and Rand Morgan Road. His bond was set at $1.5 million.
Corpus Christi police also clarified Wednesday that Bellino has never been employed by the Corpus Christi Police Department. Police said he was employed by the Corpus Christi Independent School District Police Department as a reserve peace officer.
The former student told investigators that Bellino allegedly engaged in sexual acts with the student on the Mary Carroll High School campus and during school-sponsored extracurricular activities.
CCPD said Bellino was an instructor and girls wrestling coach at the time of the alleged incidents. Detectives with CCPD’s Special Victims Unit obtained an arrest warrant for Bellino Tuesday after receiving the former student’s report.
CCISD police and Carroll High School administrators assisted Corpus Christi police with the investigation.
Police said the investigation remains active and detectives are working to identify any additional witnesses or potential victims.
