Samad Taylor homered in his second rehab game on Wednesday in Triple-A El Paso’s 11-2 loss to visiting Round Rock.
The 28-year-old Taylor went 0-for-3 with a walk on Tuesday before going 1-for-4 on Wednesday.
Taylor last played in the majors on July 7 before an oblique injury sent him to the injured list. The team has since replaced him with switch-hitter Luis Rengifo, who is seeing time in left field, as well as second and third base.
Taylor was hitting .330/.410/.398 with one homer, 11 RBIs and six steals over 26 games before landing on the 10-day injured list.
Rengifo is hitting .313/.409/.455 with four homers, 13 RBIs and three steals in 29 games.
Left fielder Bryce Johnson (.728 OPS) hit his first homer and second baseman Marcos Castañon (.803 OPS) and third baseman Will Wagner (.710 OPS) both had a double in a two-hit game.
Right-hander Sean Boyle (8-7, 6.12 ERA) allowed six runs in 4 ⅔ innings in the loss.
El Paso is 49-72.
