Gov. Greg Abbott will be back in Tarrant County on Thursday to discuss taxes and sign a pledge to taxpayers.
The function will be at the county courthouse, 100 E Weatherford St. Fort Worth. Republican commissioners Matt Krause, Manny Ramirez and County Judge Tim O’Hare will be present.
Abbott was in Fort Worth less than a month ago campaigning on his affordability plan to lower the financial burden on Texans. This event will be in his capacity as governor.
Last week, Krause led an official Tarrant County recognition for Abbott’s campaign promise to reform property taxes, which includes appraisal predictability, caps on appraisal growth and the elimination of the majority of school property taxes for homeowners.
Tarrant County commissioners also discussed their intent Aug. 13 to lower taxes for the fourth year in a row at the John Peter Smith Hospital District and county levels.
