RUSSELLVILLE, Ky. (WBKO) – Russellville native, Courtney Coker has been nominated by President Donald Trump to be a US District Court judge for the Northern District of Texas.
Coker is a graduate of Russellville High School and Centre College where he was the captain of the football team.
Trump announced that he was nominating Coker for the position in a Truth Social post on Tuesday, Aug. 18.
Coker has been a Federal Prosecutor for nearly 20 years, and is currently the First Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Texas.
In his truth social post, Trump applauded Coker’s work prosecuting cartels, gangs and human traffickers.
Trump said the people of Texas are lucky to have Coker.
