SAN ANTONIO – A new brick-oven pizza spot in Leon Valley is pairing pies with dance, as Esta Pizza opens next to its sister business, Esta Noche dance studio, for what the owners call an “eat, dance, repeat” experience.
Jonathan Godinez said Esta Pizza is “brand new” and has been open “about two months.” The restaurant is located at 7007 Bandera Road, near Bandera and Hebner Road.
Godinez said the menu is built around family and dance influences, with pizzas that “have a little story behind it.” He said the restaurant’s most popular pizza is the “baby J,” named after the owners’ daughter. He said it comes with pepperoni, feta cheese and “Mike’s hot honey drizzle on top of it.”
He also highlighted a dessert pizza called “Mama’s Touch,” which he said is based on something his mom made for him growing up: “bananas, lecha condensala, condensed milk.” Other menu items include pizzas such as the “Susie Q,” which he said is named after the dance move.
The owners are also promoting a new weekly event starting Sunday called Domingo Sabroso. Plans include a free bachata class at 1 p.m., social dancing from 2-5 p.m., and karaoke and games. Admission is listed as $5 before 2 p.m.
The restaurant is also offering a discount tied to Fox SA’s “Keepin’ It Puro.” Customers who mention they saw it on the show can get 10% off any menu item now through Sunday.
